Push to open Faulkner County Animal Shelter moving to quorum court

FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. – Two years after purchasing a new site for the Faulkner Animal Shelter, renovations have yet to be made.

Faulkner County leaders were originally expecting the project to be done by August 2022, but plans were put off causing the building to lie dormant and causing frustration for community volunteers and fosters.

With Faulkner County being one the top areas for animals in need for shelter, Friends of the Faulkner County Animal Shelter President Donna Clawson says it is time to get the ball rolling.

She is hopeful that once the topic goes to Quorum Court on Feb. 20, they will get the green light. In the meantime, the county has over $1.3 million in voluntary tax dollars to get the project done.
