Push renewed to allow supermarket liquor sales in Baltimore

Two former mayoral candidates from both sides of the aisle are teaming up to get legislation passed to help lure full-service grocery stores to Baltimore's healthy food priority areas. A push to entice grocers to the city by allowing them to sell beer and wine failed this legislative session. Getting grocery stores to open in certain Baltimore City neighborhoods is a challenge, but supporters haven't given up hope. In Baltimore's Upton neighborhood, there are plenty of convenience stores that sell beer and liquor with a few fresh food items mixed in.
