Q&A: What you should know about the proposed 600-mile ‘Lost Sierra Route’

California is known for its hiking trails. Visitors can walk a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail or take a one-mile walk to the Emerald Pools — it's all among the hundreds of options for California hikers. Now, a nonprofit wants to add another 600-mile trail called the Lost Sierra route. That route would criss-cross about one-million acres of remote mountains, linking 14 towns from Susanville, to Quincy, to Sierraville. Greg Williams and Trinity Stirling, with Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship, sat down with KCRA 3 on Monday to speak more about the proposed trail.
