Qatar airport unveils tropical garden for World Cup

STORY: The expansion was built to cope with visitors during the World Cup which starts later this month.

Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker said the Orchard garden was 'unmatched anywhere in the world' as he proudly showed off the new facilities at the Hamad International airport.

The expansion project is set to accommodate around 58 million passengers, up by 18 million from its previous 40 million capacity.

The World Cup Qatar 2022, kicking off on November 20, will, according to Qataris, attract over a million tourists who will come both through Hamad International Airport and newly reopened Doha International Airport.
