Quadruples, triples and more records: Vote for IHSAA girls track top regional performers

IndyStar is recognizing the top performers from girls regionals in track and field.

Noblesville's Kiana Siefert won last week's vote for top sectional performer, garnering 34% of the nearly 5,000 votes cast.

Olivia Cebalo, Carmel

Freshman set 400-meter school record of 55.61 in finishing second at Lafayette Jeff. Her 55.75 anchor carried Carmel to 3:54.24 in 1,600 relay, fastest time in Indiana this year, and she ran 2:15 leg for winning team in 3,200 relay.

Ramiah Elliott, North Central

Won four events at Ben Davis, setting stage for unprecedented state quadruple. Her times for 100/200/400 meters: 12.00, 24.68, 54.89. She anchored 1,600 relay in 55.3 for collective time of 3:55.4, second in Indiana this year. North Central is 3-0 in regionals since Elliott has been in high school.

Ally Elsbury, HSE

Set sectional record of 14.61 at Lafayette in 100-meter hurdles and should qualify for state in 300 hurdles after finishing fourth in 44.85.

Hadley Lucas, Bloomington North

Sophomore thrower won shot/discus double at 46-11 and 161-9 at Bloomington North, close to her state-leading marks of 48-3 and 163-8.

Michelle Nazarov, Zionsville

Defending state champion won long jump with distance of 18-9 ¼ at Lafayette Jeff. She ran on 400 relay winning in 47.68, or .03 of Zionsville’s state-leading time.

Reese Sanders, Cathedral

Notre Dame-bound senior repeated in 100- and 300-meter hurdles in 14.91 and 43.53 at Ben Davis. The latter was just off her state lead of 43.23. She qualified for state in a third event, 1,600 relay, in which Cathedral was third off her 55.9 anchor.

Kiana Siefert, Noblesville

She advanced to state in four events from Lafayette Jeff. Siefert won 300-meter hurdles in 44.46, was third in 100 hurdles in 15.16, third in long jump at 18-3 3/4, and advanced in 1,600-meter relay via callback.

Nicki Southerland, Delta

Sophomore won 1,600 meters in 4:48.72, running final 400 in 66.67, at Ben Davis. After dropping out of 800, she won 3,200 in 10:23.96.

Junior pole vaulter cleared 12-6 at Ben Davis, improving state-leading best by two inches.

Addy Wiley, Huntington North

Huntington North’s Addy Wiley was indefatigable at Marion She ran fastest 1,600 meters ever by an Indiana girl on Indiana soil, clocking 4:37.98 -- equivalent to a 4:39.5 mile, close to the record 4:38.14 she ran at Madison, Ala., last year. Then she won 800 in 2:14.78 and 3,200 in 10:46.88, continuing bid for unprecedented triple at state. Her 56.2 anchor also allowed Huntington North to qualify for state in the 1,600 relay.

Shelby Wingler, Center Grove

Junior thrower won a shot/discus double at 46-10 ¾ and 142-1 at Franklin.
