Quail Hollow president, real estate titan Johnny Harris to be honored by NC Sports Hall

RALEIGH, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte businessperson Johnny Harris is being honored by the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame this year.

Harris, the former president and CEO of the Lincoln Harris real estate firm, will receive the Don Fish Legacy Award at the May induction ceremony. The award was developed to honor a person or organization that has significantly improved the sports landscape in North Carolina.

“From the time that he was a boy, Johnny Harris understood how sports can connect people and communities,” said Dr. Jerry McGee, president of the NCSHOF Board of Directors. “There is no more fitting time or place to lift up Johnny than in Charlotte, the birthplace of our organization, this spring.”

A University of North Carolina graduate, the Hall said Harris has noted that the most influential people in his life were his father and World Golf Hall of Fame golfer Arnold Palmer.

Quail Hollow is historically the site of the Wells Fargo Championship, and hosted the Presidents Cup in 2022.
