Quaker Steak & Lube Appears Closed For Good In Brick

BRICK, NJ — When restaurants and bars resume sitdown meals in the coming months, at least one Brick Township may not be returning.

Quaker Steak & Lube, off Cedar Bridge Road in Brick Plaza, shut its operations March 18, two days after Gov. Phil Murphy's executive order that limited restaurants and bars to carryout services only.

However, on Wednesday employees posting on Facebook said they had been notified the restaurant was closing for good.

An email to Doherty Enterprises, which owns the Brick Township location of the franchise, seeking confirmation and comment was not immediately returned.

The Quaker Steak & Lube in Brick opened in October 2012, two weeks before Superstorm Sandy struck.
