Quality Car Wash opens new location at former Pizza Hut in Holland Township

HOLLAND TWP. — After months of construction, Quality Car Wash has opened its newest Holland location on North Park Drive.

The property at 2352 N. Park Drive was once home to Pizza Hut. The building was demolished and new exterior construction began last spring, according to Chief Operating Officer Mandi Brower.

The wash has three pay lanes — one cashier and two club lanes. The location is similar to others in Holland and surrounding cities, but lacks an on-site gas station and convenience store.

There are four existing Quality Car Wash locations in Holland: Chicago Drive, River Avenue, Washington Avenue and — now — North Park Drive. A longtime location on Eighth Street closed in September.

Brower is the granddaughter of company co-founder Jacob Essenburg. Her brother, Ryan, runs Tommy Car Wash Systems, an offshoot created in the 1990s to build equipment.

Tommy Car Wash Systems and Tommy's Express — the family's national brand that pairs equipment with the Quality Car Wash concept — will soon share a new Holland headquarters at Waverly Road and M-40, expected to create hundreds of new jobs in the coming years.

The new wash on North Park Drive is open 6 a.m.-9 p.m. daily, and offers nine free vacuum stations — with mat washers coming soon. The business' next big project at the former Burger King at 187 N. River Avenue will introduce Quality's first express interior wash.

That location will also include an exterior wash, replacing operations at 243 N. River Ave. The existing River Avenue location will remain a gas station and convenience store, and may be slated for a facelift in the near future.
