The queen has invited Donald and Melania Trump for a state visit and Brits aren't happy: 'He's not welcome here, ever'
Buckingham Palace is getting a new arrival — and it’s not the royal baby.
Palace sources have confirmed that Queen Elizabeth II has invited President Trump and first lady Melania Trump for their first state visit. The couple, who previously joined the monarch for tea at Windsor Castle last summer, have accepted the invite, and will be in England from June 3 to June 5.

Last July’s visit — which wasn’t considered an official state visit, and didn’t include a stop at Buckingham Palace — saw the Trumps being greeted with large-scale protests in London as well as an inflatable “Trump baby” balloon flying near the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. It’s perhaps not so surprising, then, that Brits still aren’t quite ready to roll out the red carpet a second time.

Cheapest way to host this state function (as it's taxpayer money): decorate Victoria Station McDonalds for the banquet and host it there. They are fine for moody toddlers parties - and we know he likes the food.

As one Twitter commenter pointed out, Trump’s previous visit with the queen saw him breaking etiquette by blocking her path.

It’s unclear if the rest of the royal family — including American-born Meghan Markle, who will be a new mother at the time of the visit — will help welcome the Trumps, as they did in the past with Barack and Michelle Obama. It is likely that British prime minister Theresa May will join in, despite POTUS’s vocal disdain for her Brexit negotiations. Trump and London Mayor Sadiq Khan have also exchanged barbs, and it was Khan who signed off on permission for the “Trump baby” balloon to go up in Parliament Square.
