Queen Maxima of the Netherlands made an appearance today as she attended the wedding of Hussein, Crown Prince of Jordan and Rajwa Al Saif. To mark the royal occasion, the queen opted for a fluttering blue floral gown by designer Luisa Beccaria. The deep V-necked gown featured flowing, semi-sheer sleeves in a petite blue floral, contrasted with a bolder version of the pattern on the ground-skimming skirt. She paired the look with a shell-shaped blue clutch and a glittery necklace of blue and white gemstones.
This isn't the first time the queen has opted for this particular style. In fact, she's worn the same dress and necklace combo on at least two other occasions: once at the benefit gala for a children's oncology center in 2017, and again for a dinner with members of the Dutch Council of State in 2019. In 2019, she even carried that same clutch purse, proving that she's an expert at shopping her own closet for formal events.
Later in the evening, Maxima and the other royals switched from day-friendly looks to more formal evening attire for a state banquet honoring the wedding. For the event, she swapped to a long-sleeved maxi dress in a pattern of neutral tones, donning a sash of Jordanian royal honors of the Supreme Order of the Renaissance, as well as the Stuart Tiara.
She and her husband, King King Willem-Alexander were joined by their daughter Princess Amalia who wore a bespoke red Jan Taminiau gown and the Ruby Peacock Tiara.
The royal wedding in Jordan is just the latest in a busy roster of major royal events in recent weeks. In early May, Maxima joined numerous other international royal in London to mark the coronation of King Charles III. For that event, she chose a bespoke, hand embroidered white dress by Jan Taminiau.
