The Queen Now Has an Official Supplier of Crystals

When it comes to her extensive collection of crowns, tiaras and jewels, Queen Elizabeth doesn’t take any chances. So, it’s no surprise the 93-year-old monarch recently named Swarovski as the official supplier and manufacturer of the royal family’s crystals.

Over the weekend, Queen Elizabeth issued a Royal Warrant to proclaim the jewelry company as the family’s sole source of crystals.

According to a press release, Nadja Swarovski—a member of the brand’s executive board—accepted the prestigious offer “in recognition of the company’s commitment to the highest standards of service, quality and excellence.”

While Royal Warrants are issued for a number of reasons, the main goal is to recognize companies and tradespeople deemed worthy of supplying their goods to the British royal family. In an interview with WWD, Nadja confirmed that the entire brand is thrilled about the partnership.

“This is a significant honor, which acknowledges the quality and craftsmanship of our product and reflects our ongoing provision of crystals to the British monarchy,” she said.

Swarovski is joining 816 other companies to receive a Royal Warrant, including Burberry, Hunter, Cadbury, Nestlé and more.

Could this cue the influx of Swarovski crystals on the fascinators and gowns of Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton and—dare we say—Princess Charlotte? We sure hope so.
