At royal weddings, the bride’s outfit of choice is understandably one of the most talked-about details, but a mother-of-the-bride’s attire is usually just as noteworthy. When Princess Iman of Jordan married Jameel Thermiotis on March 12, 2023, her mother, Queen Rania, wore an ensemble that included a secret tribute to her daughter.

For Iman’s big day, the monarch stunned in a pleated beige gown by Christian Dior, and she paired the look with a blue satin clutch that Jennifer Chamandi made custom for the queen. According to Hello!, that accessory featured an engraving of “Imany,” which translates to “My Iman” in Arabic. The outlet reports that the bag costs about $1,000, but it is not available for purchase. To pull her outfit together, Rania also wore black suede heels that the Lebanese-British designer created.

To mark her daughter’s milestone, the queen dedicated three separate Instagram posts to Iman’s nuptials. In the first tribute, she shared portraits of the Jordanian royal family and captured a few moments from the ceremony, such as Crown Prince Hussein escorting his sister down the aisle and the queen giving her daughter a big hug. “Iman, I pray this next chapter in your life brings you as much joy, love, and laughter as you have brought us over the years,” she wrote. “Congratulations to the bride and groom!”

In her second post, Rania shared more behind-the-scenes details from the royal wedding. In addition to family portraits, the post shows Hussein walking Iman through the gardens before the ceremony, which concluded with the bride and groom exchanging wedding bands. The final snap in the carousel reveals that Iman and Jameel traded vows in a brightly-lit room with floor-to-ceiling windows, and they stood at an altar adorned with tree-like structured covered in flowers. Floral arrangements also lined the carpeted aisle. “A day unlike any other,” her caption said. “Thank you all for sharing in our joy.”

For the queen’s third and final post thus far, Rania uploaded a video that captured moments from the wedding, including a touching part of the ceremony when the mother of the bride shed a tear. “My dear Iman, it’s not goodbye when you’re always on my mind and in my heart,” Rania expressed. “God bless you.”

Iman also donned a Christian Dior gown that creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri made for her special day. The bride donned a long-sleeve dress with a high neckline and lace detailing. A diamond tiara and a sweeping veil completed her regal look.
