Jonathan Van Ness of Netflix's 'Queer Eye' visited the Build Studio to sit down for an interview on Wednesday, and during it, he announced that he's officially endorsing Elizabeth Warren for president.

Shortly afterward, Warren called Van Ness personally to thank him for his endorsement. "I'm glad we're going to be in this fight together side-by-side," the Democratic candidate said. "I love this endorsement. And for all the right reasons!"

'Jvn' is far more than a reality star. He's flexed his sociopolitical wisdom at length on his podcast, "Getting Curious," which has featured a myriad of political strategists, activists and journalists as guest stars. Van Ness himself is also an activist, and constantly uses his platform to challenge his fans to educate themselves and vote. Thus, it's unsurprising that he has chosen a candidate like Warren, whose values align with many of those he's expressed over the last few years.

During the interview, the "Queer Eye" star also discussed the contents of his new book, "Over the Top." In the book, he reveals that he's HIV positive, a fact that he notes has been receiving more attention than it should over the last couple of days. Van Ness also became emotional when discussing the sense of responsibility he now feels to stand up for others who are HIV positive and may not have the means to medicate themselves, or have the voice to contribute to the destigmatization of the disease.

"To share my truth the second all my dreams come true is really scary," he shared.

Despite the spots of heaviness in the interview, Van Ness still managed to come across as his bubbly, uplifting and unapologetic self. When asked what the main message he wanted people to take away from his book was, he simply replied, "Joy."
