Fall River's Quequechan River Rail Trail has a new extension

As part of an effort to encourage residents to walk, bike and run more in the city, a new extension to Fall River's Quequechan River Rail Trail is now complete.

The first portion of the trail, formally dubbed the Alfred J. Lima Quequechan River Trail, opened in 2016 and follows the old New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad lines.

Before, the trail stopped short of the border between Fall River and Westport, but now it extends right up to the city line.

Fall River's Mr. Chen expanding with new eatery, a new concept

Then we've got good news, because Mr. Chen will be expanding to a second South End location.

Owner and chef Dominic Chen opened up less than a year ago at 210 Rhode Island Ave., Fall River, and he's planning to bring his creativity to his new spot at 250 Jefferson St.

Chen said his second location will be taking his creative recipes in a new direction, with a new focus.

Fall River celebrates Day of Portugal

Thousands of people turned out at the Gates of the City for Fall River's Day of Portugal celebration last weekend.
