MONAHANS SANDHILLS RESOLUTION RUN

The Monahans Chamber of Commerce has scheduled the annual Resolution Run event on today at the Sandhills State Park, Exit 86, 2500 I-20, Monahans.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the races begin at 9 a.m.

Tickets are $20, with a $5 surcharge for registration day-of.

MLK CELEBRATION

The Black Cultural Council of Odessa will present a celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through Monday.

The theme is "A Day of Service — Unity."

The following events are scheduled.

— Today: 9 a.m., basketball tournament at the Woodson Boys & Girls Club, 1037 E. Murphy St. Entry to the tournament will be $5 for adults, $3 for children and free for ages under 5. For more tournament information, call 432-978-8909.

— Sunday: 3:30 p.m., gospel celebration at First Church, 415 N. Lee St. The speaker will be the Rev. Reginald G. Reid Sr., pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA. Music will be provided by combined city choir.

— Monday: 10 a.m. to noon, King brunch with speaker Mari Wills, former Odessa City Councilman, at the Woodson Community Center, 1010 E. Murphy St. Freedom March line up will follow at the Southside Senior Citizens Center, 900 S. Dixie Blvd. The march will begin at 1 p.m. Prizes will be presented. The Odessa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., will present a candlelight vigil following the parade at Woodson Community Center. WEST TEXAS HUNTING EXTRAVAGANZA

Safari Club International West Texas has scheduled the Annual West Texas Hunting Extravaganza from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today at the Midland County Horseshoe, 2514 Arena Trail, Midland.

There will be more 60 Exhibitors representing hunting opportunities and destinations from all over the world.

General admission is $10 at the door, and admission for children under 12 will be free.

BECOME A CERTIFIED MASTER GARDENER

The Texas AgriLife Extension Service has scheduled Permian Basin Master Gardener classes today.

Classes will be in-person and online. In-person classes will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays at the Ector County Extension Office and at the Midland County Extension Office. Online classes will be pre-recorded.

Certification requires 60 hours of volunteer work in addition to completion of classes. Registration is $250.
