Quick Lane Bowl champs thank community for support in downtown Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES - Nearly a month after completing an unexpected run to a bowl game, the New Mexico State football team said 'Thank you' to the Las Cruces community.

The Aggies celebrated their Quick Lane Bowl championship with fans and supporters in downtown Las Cruces at the Plaza De Las Cruces on Saturday afternoon.

NM State won its second bowl game since 1960 on Dec. 26, 2021, beating Bowling Green 24-19 at Ford Field in Detroit.

It was the first bowl game win as a FBS head coach for Jerry Kill, who led the Aggies from an 0-4 start to a 7-6 record in his first season as the Aggies head coach.
