QuickChek opening third Hunterdon County location this week

UNION (Hunterdon) – QuickChek will be opening its newest store on Tuesday off Exit 12 on Interstate 78 west of Clinton.

The convenience store chain, headquartered in Whitehouse Station, will open the 5,694-square-foot store at 172 Perryville Road. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday with Mayor David DiGiralamo and other local officials in attendance.

The new store will be open 24 hours a day. Features include no-fee ATMs, 10 fuel pumps and 50 parking spaces. The store is equipped with a generator so it can remain open during power outages.

Each QuickChek store typically creates 35 to 45 new jobs including eight management positions and generates approximately $1 million in tax revenue.

As part of the grand-opening celebration, QuickChek will donate 25 cents for every sub sandwich sold in the first 30 days to the Plainfield Boys and Girls Club.

Last year QuickChek raised $86,500 through its annual golf outing for Alternatives, Inc. of Raritan Borough to help provide comprehensive services to individuals and families with developmental disabilities.

Also last year, a team of volunteers picked 21,000 pounds of peaches at America’s Grow-A-Row in Pittstown and customers helped raise $67,000 during the “Pennies 4 Produce” in-store campaign to help those struggling with food insecurity.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Murphy USA, QuickChek operates 162 stores including 99 locations with fuel throughout New Jersey, New York’s Hudson Valley and Long Island.

The Union Township location is the third QuickChek to open in Hunterdon County. The other locations are in Readington and East Amwell.
