'Remarkable Women: Writing the Wrongs' performed at Monroe County History Center

At 6 p.m. March 17 and 18 and 3 p.m. March 19, an original play, "Remarkable Women: Writing the Wrongs," will be performed at the Monroe County History Center, 202 E. Sixth St.

Written by Gladys DeVane in collaboration with and directed by Danielle Bruce, the play brings to life the stories of three remarkable Black women: Frances Watkins Harper, Lillian Thomas Fox, and Ida B. Wells. The women were accomplished writers (journalists, poets, novelists); they were public speakers, and social activists, and their works shaped attitudes and influenced our nation’s history.
