Quincy Jones hospitalized after bad reaction to food, report says

Music producer Quincy Jones was hospitalized over the weekend after having a bad reaction to something he ate, according to a report Sunday.

The 90-year-old Jones was cleared by doctors after he went from his Los Angeles home to an emergency room on Saturday, his representative told TMZ.

Jones remained in “great spirits” and stayed conscious throughout the ordeal, the representative added. The representative didn’t immediately respond to a Daily News request for comment.

Jones — a 28-time Grammy winner out of 80 nominations — famously worked with fellow industry titans including Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles. Jones, like Sinatra and Jackson, is among the 15 artists who have received a Grammy Legend Award.

The prolific producer is also a Tony winner for “The Color Purple,” as well as a seven-time Oscar nominee for his musical contributions to multiple movies.

The Chicago-born Jones is a producer on the latest film adaptation of “The Color Purple,” which is directed by Blitz Bazawule and due out this Christmas. Steven Spielberg, who directed a 1985 adaptation, and Oprah Winfrey, who starred in it, are also producers on the new film, which features a big-name cast with Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, Ciara and Halle Bailey.
