Quincy woman, 19, accused of shooting at 2 people in Dorchester

BOSTON − A Quincy woman was charged with shooting at another woman and a Lyft driver in Dorchester, Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said.

The shooting occurred at about 3:45 a.m. June 2 in the area of Corona Street in Dorchester. Boston police said the Lyft driver told them he had just picked up a woman when bullets hit his vehicle, WCVB reported.

The driver said he heard three gunshots and then quickly drove away, police said.

Officers found damage to the front driver’s-side door and three casings − one in an alleyway and two in a driveway, investigators said. Officers also found two live rounds on the street.

Neither the 19-year-old passenger nor the driver were injured, police said. The passenger said she had been in a three-week relationship with the suspect, police said.

Quincy police pulled over the 19-year-old suspect and found a loaded 9mm firearm under the driver’s seat and ammunition in the car and trunk, authorities said.

The woman has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, possession of ammunition without an firearm identification card and carrying a firearm without a license.

She was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
