I'm stuck! Raccoon finds itself wedged in tree trunk after generous meal

After a generous meal the night before the raccoon may have forgot his new measurements.

This is the moment an unlucky raccoon got lodged in a tree as it tried to make an escape from heavy snowfall.

After a generous meal the night before the raccoon may have forgot his new measurements as it looked far from amused when it got stuck in the tree trunk.

The raccoon was looking for some shelter as the mercury plunged and the snow fell so went in search of a hollow of the tree trunk for some warmth.

But its newly-grown stomach made the manoeuvring a little more tricky than it originally planned.

German photographer Susi Fischer snapped the moment on a visit to Cologne Zoo.

Susi, 45, said: "It was a bitterly cold day and you could see the raccoon using all its strength to try and squeeze into the space.

"It took a really long time to get inside but as soon as it did its face quickly turned to a look of frustration because it realised it was too big to wriggle out.

"It didn't stop it from poking its tongue out at me though when it saw me trying to take its picture.

"My passion is animal photography which first began with getting shots of cats and this led on to me always being on the lookout for getting pictures of all different types of animals in zoos."

The raccoon eventually wriggled free and managed to find shelter that was more accommodating under some foliage.
