Here are the race courses runners will face in the Nashville Rock 'n' Roll Marathon
The St. Jude Nashville Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon returns Saturday, Nov. 20 after a two year absence. This year, the course will look a little different as organizers have eliminated a section of the course that runners have complained about over the years.
The marathon's new course will not include the 4-mile trek through MetroCenter. That stretch will be made up in Shelby Park where an equivalent portion has been added and includes a run on the Shelby Bottoms Greenway along the Cumberland River.
The change was made after officials heard runners' complaints about not liking the section around MetroCenter because it was desolate and without many spectators. Runners will do the loop in Shelby Park around Sevier Lake, which has always been part of the course, and then a new down-and-back stretch on the greenway before doing the loop again.
The half-marathon course will be the same as before.

The course brings you around Nashville, past many iconic landmarks including Broadway's honky-tonks, Dolly Parton's recording studio, Country Music Hall of Fame, and more. Cross the finish line at Nissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans.
