Rachel Stevens denies ex-fiancé’s claims that she cheated on him

Rachel Stevens has denied claims made by her ex-fiancé that she cheated on him during their relationship.

The S Club 7 star called his story “absolute lies” and says that his recent accusations about her infidelity “absolutely did not happen.”

Stevens was engaged to former Hollyoaks star Jeremy Edwards between 2002 - 2003 who has now claimed that events in their relationship, coupled with rumours of her alleged new romance, have caused him to believe she may have cheated on him.

The singer has been recently been linked to her Dancing On Ice partner Brendyn Hatfield after her splint from husband Alex Bourne last year although neither party has confirmed the rumoured romance.

Edwards has now claimed that the rumours have sparked doubts about his historical relationship with Stevens.

He told The Sun: "Since this story came up, it’s brought all this up again. And I've thought about it more, I've thought about our relationship, and I think she did have a fling.

“I would never in a million years have thought she would do something like this. But because of the story that has come out, it just makes me question our relationship.”

Stevens has now furiously denied his claims, with her rep telling the Mirror: "This is a completely false story, the below interview is absolute lies, and this did absolutely not happen."

Stevens and Edwards famously dated at the height of their fame before calling it quits in 2003.

She announced her split from husband Bourne last year after 12 years of marriage with the former couple agreeing to co-parent their children, daughters Amelie, 12, and Minnie, eight, following their separation.

Stevens was recently rocked by tragedy when her S Club 7 band mate Paul Cattermole tragically passed away just weeks after the group announced their comeback tour.

The 46-year-old former pop star was found dead in his Dorset home on 6 April with police calling the death “not suspicious.”
