Radio 1's Greg James shuts down sex tape prank live on-air

BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James has been forced to shut down a sex tape prank live on air.
The DJ was hosting his Breakfast Show this morning (February 21), though things didn't go to plan when it came time to do his popular 'Cowboy Time' segment at 9.50am.
The skit usually involves callers repeating the word "ten" in a cowboy style to mark 10 minutes to 10, and today's version was already off to a rocky start when Greg and the team tried unsuccessfully a few times to get through to caller Lewis.

"I'm here!" Lewis eventually declared, to which Greg replied: "You're here, but I've got a question, 'What time is it?"
However, the call then proceeded to play sex noises, which led to Lewis being swiftly cut off.
"Oh, ok. That's a shame. That is a shame. Do we call him again?" Greg then told listeners as he and his team appeared to laugh it off.
"Well that buries it, doesn’t it? That's the end," the presenter continued. "That's the end of 'Cowboy Time' as we know it. That's a fail. That's a huge fail.

"Thanks a lot, Lewis, you ruined the party for everyone," he added, before referencing the iconic Come Dine With Me moment: "Enjoy the money, Jane. I hope it makes you very happy.
"Oh, sad… Rest in peace, 'Cowboy Time'."
Digital Spy has reached out to BBC Radio 1 for comment.
Meanwhile, last year Radio 1 went off air for five minutes after Greg was unable to find fellow DJ Mollie King in time as part of the Giant DJ Hunt.
Speaking afterwards, Greg said: "I'm really in shock. I've done a lot of these stupid things and I am in shock and in awe of what [Mollie] has managed to pull off. I'm amazed we've managed to turn the radio station off."
