Sep. 19—VAN WERT — Country star RaeLynn is excited to come back to Ohio.

The onetime contestant on "The Voice" is set to take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert and she is excited to be back on the road.

"It's been such a blast being able to get back on the road," the "Keep Up" singer said. "I had my daughter and got back out on the road a little bit last year, but this year it's been such a delight to see the fans again and play new music. And it's been a while since I've been back to Ohio and we're revamping our set right now so I think it's going to be a great show."

As for what the audience will be able to expect, RaeLynn said that the band would be more than ready to play in Texas.

"We've got a fiddle in the band so expect a little fiddle," she said. "But more than that, I want to take you through a journey from where I started to where I am now through 11 years. I love to even play songs that inspired me to be an artist so that's a fun set and if nobody knows me, you going to know a little bit more about me and that's what I really want."

And for people who are not familiar with RaeLynn, she describes her music as authentic and full of different influences, but still from the heart.

"I've only released one song that I haven't written," she said. "I've grown through the years. At the beginning, I was a little pop country and now I've gone more country although with a bit of 808s, but if you want authentic, you're definitely going to hear that in the songs that I write."

RaeLynn said that it is important for her fans, whom she says she leans on for feedback, to have a good time at her shows so that they can turn their friends into fans and party with her.

"I just want there to be more people the next time I come to Van Wert and for it to always be growing," she said. "I've never walked out to a crowd and been disappointed. I hope they leave impressed and if they're RaeLynn fans they have a good time."
