Raiders vs. Chargers NFL Week 13 prediction: Preview, odds and injury report

Can the Raiders string together their first three-game winning streak this season? This Sunday it’s a Week 1 rematch against the rival Chargers.

The Chargers won that first game 24-19, but the Raiders had chances to take the lead late in the fourth quarter, getting the ball back with 3:30 remaining.

On fourth down, Derek Carr was sacked by Khalil Mack.

The Chargers went on to get a first down to run out the clock.

The Raiders fell behind 17-3 in the first half and that is something they can’t do again against the Chargers.

Las Vegas (4-7) is coming off a thrilling 40-34 victory over the Seahawks on Nov. 27 behind Josh Jacobs’ 86-yard run in overtime.

It marked back-to-back walk-off wins for the Raiders and just maybe the kick-start Las Vegas needed to turn the season around.

The Raiders will need to start fast against the Chargers and the defense needs to create problems for quarterback Justin Herbert. One potential edge the Raiders might have is former Chargers DT Jerry Tillery, now with Las Vegas.

Injury report

The Raiders listed RB Josh Jacobs (calf), LB Denzel Perryman (wrist), DT Andrew Billings (fibula), RB Brandon Bolden (calf) and G Lester Cotton (calf) as questionable. TE Jesper Horsted (concussion) and DT Kendal Vickers( back) are ruled out.

The Chargers ruled out C Corey Linsley (concussion), WR Mike Williams and T Trey Pipkins III. S Nasir Adderley (thumb), LB Duke Tranquill (illness) and LB Breiden Fehoko (illness) are questionable.

Quick analysis

It cannot be overstated, but the defense needs to come through for the Raiders in this second game against the Chargers. ... And the offense needs to put up points at opportune times. ... Can it be done? Sure. The Chargers defense will be without Joey Bosa again. ... Giving the ball to Jacobs against a Chargers defense that has given up 151.4 yards per game seems appropriate. ... If the Raiders’ run game keeps producing and the defense stops the Chargers’ run, then the Raiders will come out with a win.

Prediction: Raiders 34, Chargers 30
