Rainy conditions dampen early commute in Cobb County

Jul. 20—MARIETTA — Sporadic showers added to the Tuesday commute in Marietta, slowing the usual foot traffic around the Square.

While the rain kept the usual summer crowd out of Glover Park, the Square saw people heading to their jobs and attempting to stay dry on the way. Rain began early Tuesday around 4 a.m. and scattered storms with pop-ups continued well into the afternoon.

More rain is expected this week. According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will see showers in the morning with a high of 90 in the afternoon. Storms move back in Thursday with a 60% chance of rain all day and continuing into Friday. Blue skies are back, though, for the weekend.
