Raising Cane’s to open new location in San Jose

(KRON) — The first Raising Caine’s in the Bay Area opened in Oakland in 2022. After a two-year wait, the popular Louisiana-based fast food chain is opening another location in the Bay Area.

Raising Cane’s is planning to open a new location in San Jose this fall, real estate developing firm Hunter Properties confirmed to KRON4. The restaurant will be a part of a shopping plaza called the “Evergreen Circle Project.”

The plaza, which is still in development, will be located in East San Jose at 2394 Evergreen Place.

The two other closest Raising Cane’s in the region are in Oakland and Vacaville. Last year, the Oakland restaurant shut its dining room down due to car break-ins in the parking lot. The San Jose location would be the Bay Area’s third Raising Cane’s (if you consider Vacaville part of the Bay Area).

The property site for the Evergreen Circle Project is 80 acres. The retail shopping center area is approximately 315,000 square feet, according to Hunter Properties. Here is a list of retailers expected to open this year at the plaza:

  • Starbucks

  • Crumbl

  • California Fish Grill

  • Xfinity

  • Costco Gas Station

A job posting — general manager and assistant general manager — for the San Jose location has already been posted on Raising Cane’s website.

KRON4 reached out to Raising Cane’s for further comment about this upcoming opening. We did not receive a response in time for this report.

In December, KRON4 reported that a New York-based burger chain Shake Shack is opening in San Jose. The restaurant is planned to open at 2065 Hamilton Ave.
