Four-time NBA all-star Rajon Rondo headlines the 2023 UK Athletics Hall of Fame class to be inducted in September.

Here is a breakdown of the six 2023 inductees.

Robin Ewing Bodem (gymnastics)

The second UK gymnast to earn All-America honors and the third Wildcat to qualify individually for the NCAA Tournament. A key member of the 1996 team that recorded the program’s first top-four finish at the SEC championships, a feat that has only been accomplished twice since.

Chris Chenault (football)

Chenault ranks second on UK’s career tackles list (482). He record 160 tackles as a junior in 1987. As a senior, he tallied a then-school record 28 tackles in a game against Vanderbilt. Chenault returned one of his three career interceptions for a touchdown. He still holds the freshman record for tackles (92).

Danielle Galyer Day (women’s swimming and diving)

The only swimmer in UK history to win a national championship, Galyer Day won her title in the 200-meter backstroke in 2016. Her time of 1:49.71 was sixth-fastest ever from an American woman. A four-time All-American.

Dick Parsons (baseball, men’s basketball)

Parsons holds the rare distinction as a two-sport contributor as a player and coach. In baseball, Parsons was named an All-American after hitting .400 as a senior. He was also a three-year letterman in basketball. Parsons was the head baseball coach from 1970 to 72. He was an assistant coach for Joe B. Hall’s men’s basketball team for 11 seasons, including the 1978 national championship squad.

Rajon Rondo (men’s basketball)

Rondo still holds UK’s single-season record for steals (87). He helped UK to an SEC championship as a freshman in 2005 and was named second-team All-SEC as a sophomore. After two years at UK, Rondo played 16 years in the NBA. He won two NBA championships and was named an all-star four times. Rondo led the NBA in assists three times.

Ryan Strieby (baseball)

The 2006 SEC Player of the Year, Strieby led Kentucky to its only SEC championship as a junior. Hit 20 home runs with 77 RBIs that season to earn first-team All-America honors. Strieby played 10 seasons of minor league baseball after leaving UK.
