RAM Clinic to offer free medical, vision and dental care in Knoxville in January

A three-day pop-up clinic will offer free medical, dental and vision care in Knoxville on Jan. 12-14.

Remote Area Medical, a nonprofit provider, will offer care on a first-come, first-served basis for those who need it at the Jacob Building, 3301 E. Magnolia Ave. All RAM services are free, and no identification is required.

The patient parking lot will open by 11:59 p.m. Jan. 11, a news release said. Clinic doors will open at 6 a.m. each day.

Participants should be prepared to choose between dental and vision services because of timing. Medical care will be offered to everyone attending the clinic, the release said.

Services available include dental cleanings, fillings, extractions, dental X-rays, eye exams, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses made on-site, women's health exams and general medical exams.

Bad weather, volunteer cancellations or other circumstances could cause the parking lot to open earlier or result in fewer patients being served, a news release said. Remote Area Medical encourages patients, especially those seeking dental services, to arrive as early as possible.

Information about donating and volunteering can be found at Remote Area Medical's website or by calling 865-579-1530. Patients can find more information on the RAM free clinic's Facebook event page.
