- Catcher is the shallowest position in fantasy baseball and probably always will be. But year over year, value options do emerge. This year's best value might prove to be Tigers catcher Wilson Ramos, who went 374 overall in the average Yahoo draft market. Ramos had six home runs in his first nine games this season and was sporting an OPS well north of 1,000 two weeks in. The last American League player with more home runs through nine games was Chris Shelton, the first baseman and corner outfielder you may or may not remember from the 2006 Tigers team that made it to the World Series.

Ramos was pretty dreadful last year with the Mets, but that obviously came in a small sample size amid the pandemic shortened schedule. And he's not all that far removed from being a great source of batting average and a decent enough source of power relative to other MLB catcher. Ramos reached a career high 22 home runs back in 2016 with the Nationals. He's well on pace to set a new career high this season in Detroit.
