Ramp closure slows Route 222 north traffic at key link in northern Berks [update]

Nov. 28—The ramp that carries Route 222 northbound traffic over Allentown Pike remained closed at 9:15 a.m. Monday, about four hours after a tractor-trailer overturned in Ontelaunee Township, spilling its cargo of eggs, Berks County emergency officials said.

All northbound Route 222 traffic must exit at the Laureldale exit.

The re-opening of the ramp has been delayed due to the need to clear the ramp of smashed eggs, officials siad.
