There is yet another coordinator change in the NFC West. Sunday night it was reported that the Los Angeles Chargers, who fired Anthony Lynn after the season as head coach, have hired Brandon Staley, the Los Angeles Rams’ defensive coordinator, to replace Lynn as head coach.

Staley had been with the Rams only one season. He was previously a position coach for the Chicago Bears and then Denver Broncos from 2017-2019.

Staley led the Rams defense to be the best in the NFL, ranking first in total defense, first in scoring defense, first in pass defense and third in rush defense.

Staley’s departure is the third coordinator change in the division. The Seahawks fired offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, the 49ers lost defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who was hired by the New York Jets as head coach and now Staley.

Staley might also take Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell with him, meaning the Rams would need to replace both coordinators.

Their is stability in the division at head coach but things will be different across the NFC West with new coordinators almost across the board.
