With both Cooper Kupp and David Edwards inactive due to injury, the Los Angeles Rams were forced to shuffle their starting lineup on offense in Saturday’s game. Defensively, the unit was mostly healthy, but Terrell Lewis was out and Aaron Donald had to battle through a painful rib injury that clearly limited him.

As a result, the Rams’ snap counts from their loss to the Packers look different than usual. We dove into the numbers and laid them out below, separated by offense and defense, and then by position group.

Offense

Quarterback: Jared Goff played every snap in this one. Blake Bortles was the only other active quarterback, but he only served as an emergency option in the event of an injury. Running backs: Cam Akers was in full control of the running back rotation on Saturday, and deservedly so. He played a whopping 96% of the offensive snaps, the most of his career. Malcolm Brown only played two snaps in the game, catching one pass and attempting zero runs. Wide receivers: The wide receiver rotation wasn’t very deep with Kupp out. Josh Reynolds and Robert Woods played every single snap, the first time they’ve done that together this season. Van Jefferson was the No. 3 wideout, playing a career-high 87% of the snaps. They were the only wideouts to play in the game for Los Angeles. Tight ends: There wasn’t much 12 personnel used against the Packers, and so the tight ends weren’t heavily involved. Tyler Higbee led the way with 62% of the snaps played, followed by Gerald Everett at 52%. Johnny Mundt did not get into the game. Higbee caught two passes for 5 yards, while Everett didn’t have a catch on one target. Offensive line: The starting offensive line finished the game together. Bobby Evans stepped in at left guard for Edwards, playing every snap alongside Austin Corbett, Austin Blythe, Andrew Whitworth and Rob Havenstein.

Defense

Defensive line: Donald played just 53% of the snaps on Saturday, his second-lowest total of the season. He was clearly not healthy enough to play his normal workload, so he took himself off the field at times. Michael Brockers stepped up in his 60 snaps played, making eight tackles. Morgan Fox (44 snaps) and Sebastian Joseph-Day (48 snaps) played a bunch, too. Greg Gaines subbed in at nose tackle for 19 snaps, with A’Shawn Robinson playing 15 snaps of his own. With Donald ailing, the other guys had to step in and play more than usual. Inside linebackers: Troy Reeder only came off for one snap, playing 74 of the 75 possible plays on defense. Kenny Young was on the field for 51% of the other plays, which means the Rams were in their base defense about half the time. Reeder made 13 tackles, while Young made four. Outside linebackers: Leonard Floyd led the way again with a 93% snap share. Justin Hollins remained the No. 2 outside linebacker with 67% of the snaps played. The rotation was rounded out by Samson Ebukam (9 snaps), Ogbonnia Okoronkwo (8 snaps) and Derek Rivers (2 snaps). Okoronkwo was the only player to land a hit on Aaron Rodgers. Cornerbacks: Jalen Ramsey missed one snap in the game, but he remained CB1. Troy Hill was No. 2, playing all but two snaps against the Packers. Interestingly, he played way more than Darious Williams, who was only on the field for 51% of the snaps. That’s a low number for Williams, given the way he played all season long. David Long Jr. played just one snap as a reserve. Safeties: Surprisingly, John Johnson missed three snaps. Typically, he plays every single snap as the defensive signal-caller, but he was only at 96% in this game; no injury was reported for the safety. Jordan Fuller was the only defender to play every snap, while Nick Scott was on the field for 15 plays (20%) as the third safety.
