The man who filmed the police chokehold death of Eric Garner was busted on illegal gun and drug charges after he fled a traffic stop in Brooklyn, cops said Saturday.

Cops tried to stop Ramsey Orta on Metropolitan Ave. in Williamsburg on Friday night after noticing his blue 2016 BMW had a missing front license plate, police said.

Orta, 31, sped off from the cops before crashing into another car, said police. It was not clear how far he traveled before crashing.

Responding officers arrested Orta at Wythe and Metropolitan Aves. at about 10:26 p.m. Inside his car was an illegal loaded gun and drugs, said police.

Orta was charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm, criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, unlawful possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device and fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, among other counts.

Orta has been arrested at least 12 times since 2009 on charges that include illegal gun possession, drug possession and assault.

Orta was paroled from prison in 2020 after serving four years on weapons possession and drug sale charges.

On July 17, 2014, Orta filmed former NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo putting Eric Garner in a fatal chokehold while arresting him for selling loose cigarettes in Staten Island. Orta’s footage showed Garner, 43, saying “I can’t breathe!” at least 11 times.

Orta’s arraignment was pending Saturday in Brooklyn Criminal Court.
