Randall Park will star in Netflix's upcoming murder mystery series “The Residence.”

The show, which uses details from Kate Andersen Brower’s book “The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House,” will depict a State Dinner gone horribly wrong. According to Deadline, the eight-episode series is “a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs and back stairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion.”

Park, 48, will play FBI Special Agent Edwin Park alongside Uzo Aduba as Detective Cordelia Cupp and Spencer Garrett as FBI Director Wally Glick. Other actors who will be featured in the show include Andre Braugher, Edwina Findley, Molly Griggs, Jason Lee, Ken Marino, Al Mitchell, Dan Perrault, Bronson Pinchot, Susan Kelechi Watson, Isiah Whitlock Jr. and Mary Wiseman.

Liza Johnson, who has directed episodes of “The Last of Us” and “The Diplomat,” will direct the first four episodes of the show, which is executive produced by writer Paul William Davies and Shondaland’s Shonda Rhimes.

In late January, Park, who is currently starring in Dwayne Johnson’s “Young Rock,” celebrated the release of his directorial debut “Shortcomings,” which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The film’s worldwide rights were recently acquired by Sony Pictures Classics.

“The Residence” is currently in production. An official release date has yet to be announced.
