Range Riders win streak at 3 after wins Friday, Thursday

Jun. 25—The Glacier Range Riders are streaking again, with Rob Hamby's six strong innings setting up their third straight win, 8-6 over the Great Falls Voyagers Friday at Glacier Bank Park.

The Range Riders (15-11) had to overcome a 4-2 deficit — the Voyagers scored four unearned runs in the second inning — and did it with a 9-hit attack, including Nick Lucky's two RBIs, including his first professional home run.

In the third inning the Coastal Carolina product capped a 3-run rally with an RBI single, scoring Ben Fitzgerald for a 5-4 Glacier lead; in the fifth inning he hit a solo homer to make it 6-4.

Glacier pushed the gap to 8-4 in the sixth on Kingston Liniak sacrifice fly — Liniak drove in three runs — and then weathered a seventh-inning rally by the Voyagers (8-18).

Hamby allowed just two hits and two walks in his six innings of work, and squared his season record at 1-1. He fanned three.

Tanner Solomon, John Natoli and Roy Robles threw an inning each out of the pen. Robles retired the side in order in the ninth, striking out one, for his first save.

Crews Taylor and Matt Clayton each scored twice for the Range Riders, who played Great Falls again Saturday and complete a six-game series with the Voyagers Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
