Ranger the German shepherd is an affectionate ‘fetch fanatic’ looking for a forever family

Adoptable Ranger is in need of a loving home.

In a bustling shelter, amid wagging tails and hopeful eyes, one dog stands out, patiently waiting for a second chance. Meet Ranger, a charming 6-year-old German shepherd in need of a forever family.

Ranger was brought in with his buddy Piper who has since been adopted. According to his previous owner, he is great with kids, housebroken, affectionate, obedient and good with other dogs.

He is a fetch fanatic with an affinity for toys and a deep love for water. His favorite pastimes include splashing in the kiddie pool, chasing tennis balls and taking naps. Additionally, Ranger is an A+ passenger, which will make car rides a breeze for his potential adopters.

Recently he went on a field trip where he enjoyed relaxing in a home environment, walking around the neighborhood and saying hello to friendly passersby.

Unfortunately, Ranger has become increasingly stressed in the shelter environment and has started showing signs of reactivity towards other dogs. Luckily, he was far less reactive on his field trip, so it seems as if a peaceful environment and a caring family are all he’ll need to let his true personality shine.

Currently, he would most likely do best in a single-dog home, however, his past history of living with other dogs suggests that he could do well in a multi-dog household once he has time to decompress.

If you have room in your heart and home for a loyal companion, consider welcoming Ranger as the newest member of your family.
