TWINSBURG, Ohio (WJW) — Rangers are asking for the public’s help after bat caves, which are gated off in Twinsburg’s Liberty Park, were found to be vandalized.

The incident was discovered in late November, and now Summit Metro Parks rangers are asking parkgoers if they’ve seen anything suspicious in the last few months.

“These caves [located along the ledges of the park] are gated to protect threatened and endangered bat species during hibernation, and disturbance of their habitat can have harmful consequences,” the ranger department said in a Facebook post.

It was not made clear if any bats were harmed from the vandalism.
