Ranking the 10 best players in the Steelers OT win over the Seahawks

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks put on a late-night show on Sunday night with the Steelers pulling off a huge overtime win. Several Steelers had huge games and we are ranking our 10 best.

1-LB T.J. Watt

Outside linebacker T.J.Watt proved once again he’s one of, if not the best all-around defensive player in the league. Watt saved his best work for overtime where he got two sacks and forced the fumble that gave the Steelers an opportunity to win the game.

2-K Chris Boswell

Once again kicker Chris Boswell came in clutch for his team. Boswell was perfect on his field-goal tries including the 37-yarder to win the game and a 52-yarder he hit in regulation. Boswell also hit both of his extra-point attempts and remains the most consistent scoring threat on the team.

3-DL Cam Heyward

Defensive lineman Cam Heyward has thrown a banged-up and mediocre defensive line on his back and continues to make huge plays. Heyward finished with nine total tackles and had one of the Steelers four sacks.

4-DB Tre Norwood

The rookie Tre Norwood is slowly earning his opportunities with the Pittsburgh defense and making the most of them. Norwood finished with three tackles including one tackle for loss and all of his plays stalled out drives. This includes one pass defended.

5-WR Diontae Johnson

Wide receiver Diontae Johnson is quickly turning into Ben Roethlisberger’s favorite target. As the only Steelers receiver who seems to be able to get any separation, he is a consistent threat to turn short throws into long runs. Johnson finished with nine receptions for 71 yards and seems to have put his drops behind him.

6-RB Najee Harris

In a game where the defense stole the show, rookie running back Najee Harris quietly scored another touchdown and topped 100 yards of offense for the third game this season.

7-S Minkah Fitzpatrick

In the last two weeks, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick has really amped up his aggressive play and it has paid off. Instead of sitting back, waiting for the football to come to him, Fitzpatrick is pressing the issue and it is working. Fitzpatrick finished with nine tackles and a forced fumble.

8-TE Pat Freiermuth

Roethlisberger discovered on Sunday night, throwing to tight end Pat Freiermuth is a good thing. Freiermuth was targeted seven times and caught all seven for 58 yards and several of those converted first downs. With JuJu Smith-Schuster out for the year, Freiermuth could see these sorts of targets every week.

9-LB Alex Highsmith

It was great to see outside linebacker Alex Highsmith make some plays on Sunday. 1.5 sacks and several key tackles helped this defense hold off the Seahawks. Highsmith had seven tackles and showed some real speed closing on the football.

10-P Pressley Harvin III

“Young Pressley” as head coach Mike Tomlin calls punter Pressley Harvin III had himself another very good game. Harvin punted seven times for a 49.7 yard average including a 58-yarder that pinned the Seahawks deep late in the game. Also, as Tomlin pointed out, Harvin has done an excellent job as the team’s starting holder for field goals and extra points.
