The Texas football program has a storied history.
While success hasn’t necessarily translated onto the field as of recently, there were many dominant seasons that took place on the Forty Acres. Former Texas head coach Darrell K Royal held the longest tenure (1957-76) of any coach in Austin and won three national titles along the way. He never had a losing season at Texas.
Mack Brown later brought the program back to its former glory throughout his tenure from 1998-2013 and won one national title and three BCS Bowl games.
Now that we’re gearing up for the 2021 college football season, where do the Longhorns fall among Division 1 FBS programs in regards to total wins?
It’s no surprise that typical powerhouse programs as of recently, Ohio State and Alabama, are near the top of the list. Two Big 12 programs land within the top 10 and one Big Ten program comfortably sits atop the list.
