New rankings place 4 Texas Rangers among top 100 prospects in baseball

On Thursday MLB.com revised its top 100 prospects list and several Texas Rangers prospects were listed in the top 100.

No. 8 Outfielder Evan Carter

Carter is the lone Rangers prospect in the top 10 and has put up good numbers while playing primarily for the Frisco RoughRiders. Carter is hitting .278 with 13 home runs, 58 RBIs and 16 stolen bases and ranks second on the RoughRiders in home runs and RBIs.

No. 13 Outfielder Wyatt Langford

The newest Texas Rangers prospect and the No. 4 pick in the 2023 MLB Draft has made a mark quickly in the minor league system. Through 10 games Langford is batting .395 with two home runs, nine RBIs and eight walks.

Langford has three multi-hit games in his first seven appearances for the Hickory Crawdads and has only gone hitless once.

No. 67 Shortstop Sebastian Walcott

The 17-year-old Bahamian shortstop, the youngest player on this list, has shined in the Arizona Complex League after struggling in the Dominican Summer League. In the ACL, Walcott hit .289 with seven home runs, 18 RBIs and nine stolen bases. In the DOSL he batted .161 with no home runs, three RBIs and three stolen bases.

No. 98 Pitcher Brock Porter

The 2022 draftee from St. Mary’s Preparatory School has had ample success from the mound despite sporting an 0-2 record. This season, Porter has a 2.41 ERA with 74 strikeouts and has become the highest-ranked Rangers pitching prospect.
