Ransomware Attack Shuts Down Haverhill Schools As Some Students Prepare To Return

LISA GRESCI: That cyber attack canceling what would have been the first day back to school for hundreds of elementary school students here in Haverhill. Second, third, and fourth grade students set to return to the classroom today will have to wait and in-person and remote learning for all Haverhill public schools pre-K through 12th grade are now canceled. The superintendent calling this ransomware attack heartbreaking, telling parents the entire system is offline. And today will be considered a snow day to be made up at the end of the year. The district is working with IT, police, and Homeland Security to fix the issue and hope students will be back to school tomorrow. We are expecting that update later today.
