BOSTON (AP) _ Rapid7 Inc. (RPD) on Thursday reported a loss of $13.4 million in its second quarter.
The Boston-based company said it had a loss of 28 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 2 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 7 cents per share.
The cybersecurity company posted revenue of $79 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $75.2 million.
For the current quarter ending in October, Rapid7 expects its results to range from a loss of 4 cents per share to a loss of 2 cents per share.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $79.2 million to $80.8 million for the fiscal third quarter.
Rapid7 expects full-year earnings to be 5 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $318 million to $321 million.
Rapid7 shares have increased 95% since the beginning of the year. The stock has more than doubled in the last 12 months.
