Rapper Lil Yase shot and killed at age 25

Rising rapper Lil Yase has died at age 25 after being shot Saturday morning in California, according to a report.

The hip-hop artist was found dead in the East Bay area about an hour and a half after he left his recording studio near San Francisco at around midnight, according to TMZ.

The circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately clear, but TMZ reports the rapper had told friends he planned to return soon, only for his body to be found in an area that would take nearly an hour to travel to from the studio.

Lil Yase’s record label, Highway 420 productions, expressed gratitude for those who had shared support following the rapper’s death.

“We appreciate all the love and support,” the label wrote in an Instagram post. “Yase loved his fans, he worked every day for y’all. We have hundreds of songs coming for you.”

Lil Yase, who was from the San Francisco Bay Area, frequently garnered tens of thousands of views on YouTube for his videos featuring his music.

His songs include “Get It In,” “Foul” and No Diss.”
