Employees and patrons at BKK thai kitchen + bar were surprised during lunchtime on Saturday when rapper Waka Flocka Flame made an appearance.

The performer is famous for his singles "O Let's Do It," "Hard in da Paint" and "No Hands."

Restaurant owner Ryan Rios said the rapper ordered the chips and curry, firecracker shrimp and Pablo Escolar sushi roll during his visit to the local business in Lamar Park.

"He was here for several hours and had a great time," Rios said. "Guests were asking, 'Is that who I think it is?' It was a neat way to end our spring break week at the restaurant."

Before Waka Flocka Flame left, the lunch staff asked for a picture, and the rapper obliged.

The Thai restaurant is still on schedule to open its second location in April, Rios said. The business will be in the new Staples Plaza at 6702 S. Staples St.

"We're excited to get it open," Rios said. "We're hiring right now and can't wait to bring another BKK thai kitchen + bar to Corpus."
