How rare was score of Chiefs’ win over Denver? It last happened 96 years ago to the day
The Chiefs had never won a game by the final score of 19-8.
But that changed with their victory Thursday night over the Denver Broncos at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
The 19-8 final wasn’t a Scorigami, which is a one-of-a-kind score in NFL history. But this was just the second time we’ve seen that score in 104 years of NFL football.
In a crazy coincidence, the only other time there was a 19-8 score in the NFL came 96 years ago to the day: Oct. 12, 1927.
Chiefs beat the Broncos 19-8. I checked and it’s not Scorigami, but it’s only the second time this score happened. The first was 96 years ago TO THE DAY pic.twitter.com/fHXjGvnvUK

The other 19-8 score came when the New York Yankees defeated the Buffalo Bison. Both franchises are now defunct.
Red Grange, “the Galloping Ghost,” scored a touchdown for the Yankees, who were in the league for just two seasons (1926-27). The Buffalo Bison were in existence for 10 seasons (1920-29).
Grange, who is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, would go on to star for the Chicago Bears after leaving the Yankees.
