After rash of break-ins, Framingham police release videos in seeking help
FRAMINGHAM — Police on Tuesday released several home security videos of at least one suspect participating in multiple vehicle and house break-ins that occurred over the past two months.
Police spokeswoman Lt. Rachel Mickens said it's unknown whether the suspect is responsible for all of the alleged crimes, but it appears to be the same man in security videos released.
"It's hard to tell if it's all the same person," said Mickens. "We have videos from two different incidents — one at the beginning of the month and one from this past weekend — and it appears it could be the same person."
Investigators have determined the break-ins generally occur between 11 p.m. and the early morning hours. In security videos, the suspect or suspects are wearing hats, masks and gloves to help conceal their identities.
Mickens said the incidents are not limited to one section of the city.
"It appears to be spreading throughout the area," she said.

Some homes were broken into, or attempted to be broken into, even when residents were home, Mickens said.
In neighboring Natick, police spokeswoman Lt. Cara Rossi said several cars were broken into last week.
The break-ins occurred in the Natick Village area, with one car stolen during the incidents. That car was later found in Framingham, Rossi said.
Mickens, however, said it's not clear whether the activity in each community is connected.

Investigators released the videos in hopes that someone may recognize the suspect or suspects, their clothing or even how they walk.
Police say they will increase patrols in neighborhoods and are asking residents to make sure all vehicles are locked and no valuables are left in them.
