Rated Class B boys' teams Aberdeen Christian, De Smet collect wins

Clark-Willow Lake handled Great Plains Lutheran 57-23 in a high school boys basketball game Monday night at GPLHS.

Brady Jordan and Kaplan Felberg each led the Cyclones with 16 points. Cole Heiman pitched in with 11 and Trey Huber eight.

Austin Rubendall recorded eight points and Alex Heil five for GPL.

Other Boys Basketball

Aberdeen Christian 64, Warner 51: The top-rated Class B Knights improved to 11-0 with 19 points from Malek Wieker, 17 from Ethan Russell, 10 from Jackson Isakson and eight from Andrew Brennan. Hunter Cramer finished with 14, Brodey Sauerwein 12 and Drew Bakeberg eight for Warner.

De Smet 56, Castlewood 36: Third-rated Class B De Smet used 25 points and 14 rebounds from Damon Wilkinson to cruise past Castlewood in a Lake Central Conference game on Monday. Kasen Janssen contributed 17 points and George Jensen 12 rebounds and four assists for the Bulldogs. Bryon Laue recorded 12 points, Lane Tvedt 11 points and Quincy Thu six rebounds for Castlewood.

Estelline-Hendricks 66, Wilmot 35: The Redhawks rolled to the non-conference win, getting 15 points from Braxton Saathoff, 13 from Joe McAninch, 10 from Matthew McAninch and eight each from Mattix Hausman and Braxton Pravecek. Dennis Creadon scored 11 points and Ethan Cameron six for Wilmot.

Deuel 77, Britton-Hecla 51: A 22-point, eight-rebound and four-assist performance from Trey Maaland lifted the Cardinals to the Northeast Conference win. Gavin Benck contributed 13 points, 10 rebounds and five assists; Braydon Simon 17 points and five assists; and Ronnie Begalka 16 points and seven rebounds. Ashton Miller had nine points and Landon Carlson and Dawson Treeby each each for the Braves.

Groton Area 77, Northwestern 22: Lane Tietz tallied 19 points and four steals; Jacob Zak 14 points, five rebounds and four assists; Cole Simon 13 points and four assists, Tate Larson 10 points and Ryder Johnson eight points for Groton Arena. Lincoln Woodring and Jude Ortmeier each scored 13 points and Chase Neiber 11 for Northwestern.

Richland, N.D. 63, Sisseton 55: Richland used 16 points from Nicholas Wolfekuhle, 13 from Theodore Flaa and 11 from Mason Storbakken to down Sisseton. Mason Herzog notched 17 points and Ethan DeSpiegler 12 for the Redmen, who also got eight points, nine rebounds and three assists from Christian Shepherd.

Scores: Dawson-Boyd 89, Canby 51 (Minn.) and Lac qui Parle Valley 76, Minneota 74 (Minn.).

Girls Basketball

Warner 57, Aberdeen Christian 17: The fifth-rated Class B Monarchs won the Lake Region Conference game by getting 12 points apiece from Lauren Marcuson and Stacia Carda, nine from Kamryn Anderson and eight each from Ava Nilsson and Sophia Hoeft.

Tri-State 58, Great Plains Lutheran 55: Shali Laurence produced 19 points, Nora Braun 17 and Iceli Rabbithead 10 to carry the Tigers to the Eastern Coteau Conference win. Halle Bauer led GPL with 16 points. Esta Cameron contributed 10, Myra Lentz and Olivia Holmen seven each and Katherine Prahl six. Cameron also tallied eight rebounds, Holmen seven rebounds and four assists and Bauer three assists, two blocked shots and two steals.

Mobridge-Pollock 58, Potter County 47: Mariah Goehring tallied 16 points and Reagan Weisbeck 10 to pace Mobridge-Pollock, which also got nine points from Tegan Konold and seven rebounds from Heidi Olsen. Tyler Simon of Potter County reached the 1,000-point mark for her career, finishing with 20 points and eight rebounds. Emma Schlachter added nine points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Deuel 46, Britton-Hecla 42: The Cardinals won the Northeast Conference game by getting 18 points from Josie Andersen, 10 from Harley Hennings and seven from Jaycee Hourigan.

Sisseton 62, Richland (N.D.) 33: Hannah Leverson hit the 1,000th-point mark for her career with 22 points, four assists and four steals in the win for Sisseton. Krista Langager contributed 12 points and 13 rebounds, Choe Langager 10 points and seven rebounds and Emmalee Nielsen six rebounds and five assists. Blake Miller had 11 points and Alayna Schmitt 11 rebounds for Richland.

Groton Area 39, Northwestern 33: The Tigers prevailed with 11 points and four steals from Sydney Leicht, 11 points and six rebounds from Jaedyn Penning and seven rebounds and three assists from Jerica Locke. Northwestern's leaders include Adriana Ratigan (11 points), Tara Blachford (eight points) and Ashley Haven (eight points).

Lac qui Parle Valley 50, Canby 23 (Minn.): The Eagles cruised to the Camden Conference win with 13 points, six rebounds and six steals from Taylor Shelstad; 15 points from Camryn Lee; 10 points from Ayanna Gipson; and seven points and six assists from Rylee Lund. Braelyn Merritt and Ashlee AnnFrazeur led the Lancers with seven and six points, respectively. Lacie DeVos collected seven rebounds.

Scores: Webster Area 53, Waverly-South Shore 17; South Border (N.D.) 76, North Central 68, OT; Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter (N.D.) 56, Herreid-Selby Area 46; and Dawson-Boyd 60, Ortonville 44 (Minn.). No other details were reported.
