Ratings: ‘Big Brother’ Hits Season High Against NFL Preseason on Fox

“Big Brother” got a big win Sunday when the CBS reality series hit a season-high in total viewers and tied its season-high in the key adults 18-49 demographic. It was up against Fox’s NFL Preseason game between the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings.

Due to the nature of live sports, the below ratings for CBS and Fox are subject to adjustment when the final numbers come in from Nielsen later Monday.

Fox was first in ratings with a 1.0 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and third in total viewers with an average of 3.8 million, according to preliminary numbers. Following back-to-back sitcom repeats during the 7 o’clock hour, starting at 8 p.m., the Vikings victory over the Seahawks scored a 1.2 rating and 4.4 million viewers.

CBS was second in ratings with a 0.7/4 and first in viewers with 4.7 million. At 7 p.m., “60 Minutes” had a 0.9/5 and 7 million viewers. “Big Brother” at 8 scored a 1.3/6 and 5 million viewers. At 9, recently-canceled drama “Instinct” managed a 0.5/2 and 3.6 million viewers. Another episode at 10 settled for a 0.3/2 and 3.1 million viewers.

ABC was third in ratings with a 0.6/3 and second in viewers with 4.3 million. After an encore, “Celebrity Family Feud” at 8 had a 0.8/4 and 5 million viewers. At 9, “The $100 Pyramid” got a 0.6/3 and 4.4 million viewers. “To Tell the Truth” at 10 received a 0.5/3 and 3.4 million viewers.

NBC was fourth in ratings with a 0.4/2 and in viewers with 2.3 million. The network stacked its primetime block with reruns.

Telemundo was fifth in ratings with a 0.3/2 and in viewers with 817,000.

Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.2/1 and seventh in viewers with 745,000.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.1/1 and sixth in viewers with 752,000. It aired only repeats.
